Converted in 1988, our five bedroomed semi-detached cottage, half of which is 100 years old, is situated overlooking The Brede Valley in a lane off the B2089 Rye Road. The cottages originally existed as accommodation for Hop Pickers working on the farm in late summer.

The market towns of Rye, Battle and Tenterden are all within 10 miles as is the seaside resort of Hastings.

The cottage has one double, one twin and a single room available for Bed & Breakfast with a shared bathroom.

A full English Breakfast, or Continental if preferred, is served in the dining room as are dinners by arrangement.  There is also a lounge available for the use of guests which has a log fire and T.V.  The whole cottage is centrally heated.  During the summer, weather permitting breakfast can be taken on the terrace overlooking the Brede Valley.

The property is situated in 3 acres of its own land and surrounded on all sides by 134 acres of farming land of which it was once part.    The area is mostly grazing for sheep with some arable crops.   Beyond this as far as the eye can see to the South East, South and South West there is open countryside.

The garden has lawn and flower beds and there is a South West facing patio with tables and chairs for relaxing.  Some magnificent walks into the Brede Valley starting at the front gate!

There are plenty of places of interest to visit, all within an hours drive including Canterbury City and Cathedral.   Leeds, Dover,  Hever,  Bodiam and Scotney Castles.Sissinghurst, Pashley Manor, Gt. Dixter and Groombridge Gardens.

For serious shopping Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne are also within easy reach.

For younger visitors there are plenty of places to let off steam from Drucillas Zoo to Clambers in Hastings. Or even the 3 acres of fields outside, they’re great for flying kites!

Tenterden,  Romney, Hythe  and Dymchurch Railways are also easily accessible.

For evening meals out there is an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants that will suit most tastes and pockets. (All well tried and tested by the owners)
